P90X Extreme home fitness that actually works

P90X Extreme Home Fitness

Earlier this year I was a gym fanatic, a complete gym rat, toting his gym bags and his pre-workout and post workout shake, hell I even went the extra mile to pre-freeze my measured carbs and protein. And yes I had amazing results from putting in the extra hard work of getting up early and making sure I went to the gym to lift the extra pounds on the bench press.

However it was time consuming and expensive.

I had to leave aside an extra couple of hours getting to and back from the gym, i lived miles away and making sure that I had the time to get there whether using public transport or getting a lift, it consumed time that I could have used for other purposes.

Now I used to look down on home workout DVD's and thought that it was for people who were either lazy or really couldn't be bothered to take their workout seriously.

I couldn't have been more wrong.

I was introduced to P90X through a friend who had amazing success with the workouts and told me in no way this was one of those courses where they fluffed you around. From a flabby 230lb guy who had turned into a shredded 180lb Beach Body Hulk I can tell you I was green with envy. This was the real deal.

Why was it so important to me then? I no longer had to spend 45 mminutes on getting to the gym and 45 minutes getting back. I no longer had to worry about missing a workout if the gym was shut or the roads blocked and the public transport out of service.

I had everything I needed to gain that killer beach body right in my own home.

Well according to a Ohio State University study carried out on mice by Randy Nelson and Laura Fonken, exposure to even low levels of light at night or in darkness can unbalance the bodies circadian rhythm therefore putting you on the fast track to diabetes and obesity.

Now I know getting some rest and sleep is pretty important to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle but what if your one of the many millions forced to work at night, are you on your way to an early grave due to situations you can't control and a higher premium on  medical insurance simply because a 40 watt incandescent light.

I guess the thing about living and working in the modern world, even if your in a office is that it comes with its own risks, our body was never designed to sit on a chair 8 hours a day in a well lit environment 24/7. Our lifestyles may have evolved but our biology is still stuck in time.
